I’m Kylie Young, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with 20 years experience as a Social Worker in a range of settings including hospitals, disability services, out of home care, and domestic violence services in both Australia and the UK. I have been in private practice as a counsellor for the last eight years working one on one with people and co facilitating groups for childhood sexual assault survivors. I previously managed teams providing one to one and group supervision to a range of community services staff. I am committed to ongoing learning and am always looking for opportunities to learn new skills.

I provide individual counselling both in person (face-to-face) and online (via telehealth), accessible through a variety of referral pathways. I also welcome clients referred by GPs under Medicare utilising a Mental Health Care Plan which subsidises sessions.
I’ve learned is that healing and growth happen best in a space where you feel safe, supported, and understood. My style is calm, compassionate, and collaborative. I won’t push you to talk about anything before you’re ready — instead, I’ll walk alongside you as you explore what matters most. I believe every person has strengths to draw on, even in the most difficult times, and together we can find a way forward that feels right for you. I take a trauma informed and holistic approach where you are treated as the expert in your life.
Counselling with me isn’t just about working through problems — it’s about reconnecting with your values, building resilience, and creating meaningful change in your life.
Outside of my professional role, I enjoy travelling and spending time with my family and friends which help to keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of balance and self-care.
If you’re thinking about counselling or supervision, I’d love to hear from you. Sometimes the hardest part is taking that first step — but you don’t have to do it alone.
